To get there, go south on Vineyard Ave. from Hwy 101, turn right on Esplanade Dr, go about 2 blocks and turn right at the 1st stop sign which is just after you pass the patio on the right. Each person bringing a classic bike to display will get 2 complimetary admission passes woth $20 each, also good for admission on the Queen Mary. Aug 14 (Sun) * BSAOCSC COOL RIDE
Hello Boy's and Girl's, it's that time of year again! Our annual COOL RIDE through the Santa Monica Mountains. It's called the COOL RIDE because it's hot everywhere else in mid August.
On August 14, we meet at 9am at the Gateway Plaza shopping center on the corner of Ventura Blvd. and Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Woodland Hills. Easy to reach because it's only 2 blocks south of the 101 freeway on Topanga. The shopping center has a Starbucks and a restaurant open for morning business.
Ride leaves a 10am for about a 92 mile ride. For those that don' want to do the full route there are a couple of shortcuts that will cut 25 to 45 miles off. There will be a chase truck with trailer, a few tools and gas to help with an inconvenience.
Lunch stop will be at Rustic Canon Grocery & Grill @ Sierra Creek Rd and Kanan Dune Rd. (1/2 mile from th Rock Store). They have a Deli and plenty of outdoor tables under trees. August 28 (Sun) * BSAOCSC MALIBU MOUNTAIN STREET RIDE Start at Freedom Park parking lot, just off Pleasant Valley Rd, on the very west end of the Camarillo Airport property. Be ready to ride at 10AM with a full tank of gas. Ride is approximately 75 to 80 miles. Freedom Park is south from Hwy 101 on Las Posas Road in Camarillo. Right on Pleasant Valley Road, then straight thru 2 signal intersections, then past the airport to the west end of the property, then right turn. PLEASE RSVP SO LUNCH RESERVATIONS CAN BE CONFIRMED.
